Stake conference and a lot of missionaries

Good morning from Finland! :) Hope you are all doing well. I am doing really well.  Last weekend we had our stake conference, and this time it was .in Turku. the old capitol of our country. I like Turku a lot.. The people are nice, the ocean is close by (makes me feel at home, because I lived in Stockholm 12 years). I used to pass through Tukru A LOT when I lived in Stockholm... I got a ride there with my friends. That was really nice. On Saturday we arrived and we had the evening meeting at the church. I only said a quick word to the missionaries and left early because I was hungry and tired. I spent the night at my friend Virika. It was really nice. We watched "Isn't it romantic?" -a romantic comedy on Netflix, we also ate pizza. Sorry, this blog has turned more into a "normal blog" with a dash of missionaries! I am sorry! So. On Sunday I went a little earlier to the theater where we had our Sunday meeting. I sat before the meeting in the back corner and most

Missionaries are the BEST!

Good morning from Finland! :) So, I have been very blessed by knowing a lot of missionaries, past and present. A lady at the stake conference said (when I was saying hello to most of the missionaries arriving to the conference) "You know a lot of missionaries!" Yes, I guess I do! And they know me... I am so happy to be their friend.  We have had some really nice missionaries during my life here on Earth. For example elder Rubinstein from Australia, elder Kuntz from Denmark and elder Flynn from Manchester (England). Elder Flynn is serving here now. They all have served both in Jakobstad and Tammefors. So they have met my parents and have seen my hometown. It is special. It's soon time to say goodbye to the Cardons... They have been here two years and I started calling them "Grandma" and "Grandpa" even though I am old enough to be their daughter lol. But they are happy with being my grandparents, I hope and think. Elder Watson is also going home soon. Y

My missionary family: an update

Good morning from Finland! :) Here are a few recent pictures. The sisters came to visit and helped me organize my doll shelves :) The elders have helped me get around when I have had trouble walking. They help me get to game night and also help me get around at church. I am using a wheelchair temporarily because of my pain. They are really good at helping me get around. We take the tram to game night. I have got many visits from the missionaries lately and I have giving the missionaries ice cream, sweets and soda, like pepsi max and root beer. :) We also made macaroni casserole once. The elders made a better macaroni casserole than me hahhah! Sorry, I was not prepared for that lol. More later!

Missionary friends in 2024

Good morning from Finland!  As usual, we have a new set of missionaries here in Tampere. They have been helping me a lot and we have had a lot of fun. We have an elder from Arizona, one from Chicago Illinois and of course Elder Flynn from Manchester, England. Yes, you read it correctly! Elder Flynn made it here! It is so nice. He used to serve in Jakobstad, where my parents and other relatives live. So when he left Jakobstad I told him I hope he comes to Tampere, and that he did. We are so happy that he is here. I appreciate the British accent. It is like chocolate for my ears. American English is more like a hamburger for my ears. lol. No, it's good. I did choose American English in school and at the University. It was a little easier for me because the missionaries spoke a lot of English with me.  I use a wheelchair nowadays when I go outside and also at church. Elder Standage pushed me around at church yesterday, I will add a picture here. Then in the evening, my good old bonus
